Is this you?
- Always in Service. A quiet resentment is building. You've shown up for everyone else, but now you want something for yourself.
- Afraid to Want. There's something you actually want, but you're almost embarrassed to say it out loud.
- Fear of Falling. You know you're capable of more. But the stakes feel higher now, and "what if I fail?" keeps you in your lane.
- Burnout Signals. The exhaustion is creeping in faster than it used to. Your body is starting to push back.
- Stuck or Overwhelmed. You know what's next — but fear or money worries are quietly keeping you small.
- The Cost of Safety. "Safe" is starting to cost you more than it saves.
Hi, I'm Adél
I'm a qualified life coach and counsellor based in Haarlem. Originally from South Africa, and having lived in Sweden for a while, I know firsthand what it takes to rebuild your life and prove yourself, over and over, and what the deep work of coming back to yourself actually involves.
After years as a high achiever in roles at Uber, Spotify, and banking, I had to confront my own chronic exhaustion and ask the questions I'd been avoiding: what do I actually want, and what does showing up for myself look like? These days I work with people standing at exactly that threshold. They are successful by every external measure, and quietly ready to want something of their own.
My approach is trauma-informed, which simply means I understand how patterns like people-pleasing, over-functioning, and "I'm fine" are often old survival strategies rather than character flaws. I know how to hold the heavier moments with care. I also know where coaching ends and a therapist's work begins, so you're always in safe hands.
I hold a Coach/Counsellor Practitioner Diploma from The ACC and I am working toward ICF registration, with ongoing supervision throughout.
My style is warm, direct, and structured. I combine evidence-based techniques with genuine human connection to help you get unstuck and build real, intrinsic momentum. NOBCO-Coach. ICF/EMCC in progress. 180+ sessions completed.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What happens in a session?
- Sessions are 60 minutes and follow your lead — a mix of deep conversation, reflection exercises, and practical tools, followed by a summary email with next steps, worksheets, and book recommendations.
- Is this coaching or therapy?
- I'm a qualified coach and counsellor — I can explore both the past and the future with you, but I do not diagnose mental health conditions. Many clients work with both a therapist and me.
- I'm not in crisis — is coaching still for me?
- Yes. Most of my clients are high achievers who look like they have it all together but feel exhausted, disconnected, or stuck on the inside. You don't need a clear goal to start.
- Do you coach online or in person?
- Primarily online via video call. In-person coaching is available in Haarlem on request.
- What if I'm in crisis or need urgent support?
- Coaching is not suitable for crisis. In the Netherlands, contact 112 (emergencies), 113 Suicide Prevention (0800-0113), De Luisterlijn (088 0767 000), or Veilig Thuis (0800-2000).
